A quilt made for us for our 30th Wedding Anniversairy

This quilt was made for my husband and I, by our friend Brita for our 30th wedding Anniversairy.

Mi marido y yo,  hemos recibo esta colcha hecho de mi amiga por el aniversario de boda de 30 anos.

I love the colours, (purple is my favourite colour), and so when we moved into our current flat near Torrevieja (Spain) I decided to make some accessories to match this quilt.

 

Me gusta mucho los colores (morado es mi favorito de los colores), todavia cuando nos transladamos en el piso cerca de Torrevieja (Espana) he decidido a hacer cosas de colores igual de la colcha.

I made a quilt for Charlie. Hice esto por Charlie (Carlito).

 

Seat cushions cojines

 

 

A foot stool and cushions which are all 'log cabin' patchwork made from scraps. 

 
Un taburete y cojines que son todos la forma  "cabaña de madera" remiendo hecho de retazos.

 

 

When I made it we had a blue sofa but now we are preparing to move I think i'll have to get started on my next project. My husband says I ought to finish some of my other projects first!

Cuando lo hice, tuvimos un sofá azul, pero ahora nos estamos preparando para trasladado, creo que voy a tener que empezar a trabajar en mi próximo proyecto. Mi marido dice que debo terminar algunos de mis otros proyectos primero!

A basket of autumn apples

I found a pattern in a Spanish craft magazine to make the apples. They are for my Reception class of four year olds to play with as part of the autumn exhibition.

He encontrado un template en una revista española de artesanía para hacer las manzanas. Son para mi clase infantil de niños de cuatro años de jugar con como parte de la exposición de otoño.

 

I started with some recycled fabrics.

After cutting out lots of pieces, I had to match the fabrics in pairs and then sew the apple shape from six pieces, leaving a small space in which to put the filling.

 

Comencé con algunas telas recicladas.
Después de cortar un montón de piezas, que tenía que coincidir con las telas de dos en dos y luego coser la forma de la manzana de seis piezas, dejando un pequeño espacio en el que poner el relleno.

 

 

 

After filling the apples I stitched up the gaps with an invisible stitch, added the stems and leaves, and embroidered some of the seams including the invisible stitching and the edges of the leaves.
Después de llenar las manzanas me cosí los huecos con una puntada invisible, agregué los tallos y hojas, y bordados algunas de las costuras incluyendo la costura invisible y los bordes de las hojas.

 

I also made some apples with sides cut out and some segments that have been cut from the apples. Early education - fractions.

También hice algunas manzanas con partes recortadas y algunos segmentos que han sido cortadas de las manzanas. La educación temprana - fracciones.

 

 

They are in a 'Red Riding hood' style basket and will become part of the story sack.

Ellos están en una canasta de estilo 'Caperucita Roja' y pasarán a formar parte de la bolsa de la historia.

 

 

My sewing class in Spain

I recently joined a Spanish sewing group at Nonna Patch in San Pedro del Pinatar to improve my Spanish. Here are some of the projects I have completed. I have really enjoyed the challenge although some things do get lost in translation.  

Recientemente me uní a un grupo de costura española en Nonna Patch en San Pedro del Pinatar para mejorar mi español. Éstos son algunos de los proyectos que he completado. He disfrutado mucho.

 

 

I made this draught excluder for the door. He hecho esto para excludar el aire debajo de la puerta.

This string pieced quilt was made by fixing rectangles of fabric to strips of muslin. I used lots of recycled fabrics so the quilt has lots of memories. It included samples of fabric from the bedding, and the colours were taken from the blue and brown striped wallpaper.
Esta colcha reconstruido cadena se hizo mediante la fijación de los rectángulos de tela para tiras de muselina. Tenía un montón de telas recicladas por lo que el edredón  tiene un montón de recuerdos. Se incluyó muestras de tejido de la ropa de cama y los colores fueron tomados de la imagen de fondo azul y marrón de rayas.

Lay out the strip of muslin and put the 1st rectangle of fabric, face up at the top. Next put the 2nd rectangle on top of the 1st, right sides together, and at the base of these two fabrics stitch through all three layers. After this, fold the 2nd rectangle of fabric down and press.
Coloque la tira de muselina y poner la primera rectángulo de tela, boca arriba en la parte superior. Siguiente poner el segundo rectángulo en la parte superior de la primera, los lados derechos juntos, y en la base de estos dos tejidos de puntadas a través de las tres capas. Después de esto, doble el segundo rectángulo de tela hacia abajo y presione.

Now place the next rectangle right sides together and stitch. Ahora coloque el lado derecho al lado del rectángulo juntos y coser.

 

 

 

Continue until you have the required length. Continúe hasta que tenga la longitud requerida.

 

 

 

Trim the strips so that they are all the same width. Then sew all the strips together to make the quilt top. Recorte las tiras de manera que todos ellos son de la misma anchura. Luego coser todas las tiras juntas para hacer la tapa del edredón.

The quilt top was shown onto a valance sheet without wadding, but it could be quilted in the usual way.

La tapa del edredón fue cosida a una hoja de guata de cenefa sin acolchado, pero podría ser en la forma normal.

  

 

 

I've decided to keep a record of my inspirations and stitched projects, so here goes! He decido guardar un recuerdo de mis inspiraciones y tareas de costura,nos vamos!

I found this quilt in the cupboard. I made it in the early nineties. All the fabrics have memories.

Busca esta edredon en el armario. Hicelo en el ano1991. Todas las telas tienen memorias.
