A basket of autumn apples

I found a pattern in a Spanish craft magazine to make the apples. They are for my Reception class of four year olds to play with as part of the autumn exhibition.

He encontrado un template en una revista española de artesanía para hacer las manzanas. Son para mi clase infantil de niños de cuatro años de jugar con como parte de la exposición de otoño.

 

I started with some recycled fabrics.

After cutting out lots of pieces, I had to match the fabrics in pairs and then sew the apple shape from six pieces, leaving a small space in which to put the filling.

 

Comencé con algunas telas recicladas.

After filling the apples I stitched up the gaps with an invisible stitch, added the stems and leaves, and embroidered some of the seams including the invisible stitching and the edges of the leaves.

They are in a 'Red Riding hood' style basket and will become part of the story sack.
